Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" ballet at the London Coliseum is a treat at any time but has been a seasonal favourite in London for several years - of which, this year will be the last for a while.

"The Nutcracker" is a delight for children of all ages and tells the tale of Clara and her adventures as she witnesses the growing Christmas tree, travels to the Land of Snow and comes face-to-face with the Sugar Plum Fairy.

The 'Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy' is the best known and loved piece from a score which will enchant young and old.

The current presentation is enlivened with sets by cartoonist Gerald Scarfe and has been given several modern touches, including the snowflakes jumping our of a giant 'fridge and mice' bursting onto the stage with machine guns and gas masks, but nothing can detract from the magic of the tale and Tchaikovsky's superb score in a very seasonal production.

As the production will be coming to an end at the end of December, you are advised to book early to avoid being disappointed.
