September is definitely a month focused on design, in various different aspects, and The London Design Festival is an ambitious project that brings together, under one umbrella, hundreds of different locations with numerous agencies in 10 days of exhibitions, competitions, talks and activities of many kinds. The London Design Festival aims to celebrate the successes of the capital's vast design industry across many sectors encompassing fashion, architecture, retail, typography, photography, textiles, interior decoration and manufacturing, to name but a few! However, do not be deterred by the scale of the festival and the main focus is on quality rather than quantity.
You can experience any number of a huge range of events from product launches in small boutique shops to a large trade show, 100% Design at Earls Court or go to Tent London (between 18th and 21st September) at the Old Truman Brewery. Tent London covers a staggering 11 acres with modern ideas in lighting and furniture designs and showcases the work of promising new designers from amongst 150 recent UK design graduates.
The London Design Festival is a vast display and few people will cover it all. However, it is well worth checking out the website at www.londondesignfestival.com for fuller details and to find out about those particular events that may appeal best to you.
