World famous as the premier horticultural event of the year Chelsea Flower Show has no equal and draws exhibitors and visitors from around the globe, throughout its one week run. The one week of display is preceded by weeks of preparation by exhibitors, competing to create the best and most imaginative display. The result for the visitor? A wonderland of the very best creative garden design spread over an 11-acre site in Chelsea's Royal Hospital Gardens. If you ever get bored with the flowers and shrubs you can always indulge in a spell of celebrity spotting, as much of London society, including the Queen, regard the Chelsea Flower Show, founded in 1913, as a highpoint of the early Summer season. 20,000 glasses of Pimms alone are expected to be consumed at this society event, with a very British feel about it - a real treat for gardeners, would-be-gardeners and non-gardeners alike.
