The Royal Botanic Kew Gardens present 300 acres of beautiful gardens with six glasshouses. The highlights include Queen's Gardens, the 17th century gardens with plants mainly cultivated for their medicinal properties, Waterlily House which is home to a host of tropical and ornamental aquatic plants, Bamboo Garden and Woodland Garden.
A World Heritage Sites by UNESCO from 2003, the Royal Botanic Kew Gardens are lively and offer a range of activities for visitors. Children have a dedicated interactive botanic play area, where they can wiggle through tunnels or slide down the giant pitcher plant.
Six glasshouses offer you a memorable experience whether you decide to visit an Evolution House, a walk through over 3,500 million years of plant evolution, or Bonsai House. Princes of Wales Conservatory opened by Diana, Princess of Wales, in July 1987, is the most complex of Kew's public glasshouses with ten climatic zones.
The Gardens are open daily from 9.30am. For exact times call the Gardens on 020 8940 1171. Admission to the gardens is £5 for adults, £2.50 for children; during the last hour before closing, there is a reduced rate of £3 for all visitors. Kew Gardens are closed 25 December and 1 January.

The stage is set up on each of the evenings on the steps of Temperate House, the largest surviving Victorian glass building in the world.
