An architectural marvel and a venue of historical significance, the Hampton Court Palace London is set across 60 acres of land with beautifully landscaped gardens that run alongside the equally beautiful Long River. A popular tourist attraction, the Hampton Court Palace is located in South West London. Steeped in 500 years of royal history, the palace was the residence of the royalty from Henry VIII to George II.
Costumed tour guides take visitors around the palace and into the bygone era of the kings to give them an insight into their lifestyle and history. During summer, horse drawn carriages take the tourists around the beautifully stunning gardens across the palace. They can also meet with the Hampton Court gardeners, flower arrangers, housekeepers and vine keepers who are always willing to give informal presentations of their work.
The palace is also famous for the annual Hampton Court Flower Show or Chelsea Flower Show, a charity event organized by the Royal Horticultural Society of London since 1990. Held over six days on the lawns of the Hampton Court Park, this event is meant to be enjoyed with family and friends. It attracts public from all over the United Kingdom to participate, visit and pick up a variety of plants, gardening tips, organic foods and gardening tools.
Another attraction is the world famous Hampton Court Palace Hedge Maze that was planted with Hornbeam sometimes between 1689 and 1695. It covers one third of an acre with half of mile of labyrinthine pathways.
Hampton Court Palace is easily accessible from across London by the River Launch from Westminster, Richmond or Kingston, Green Line Coach numbers 415 and 718 as well as by car, bus, train and underground tube.
